Perfect For Notes

I'm finding more and more that email is the perfect place for me to keep notes in.  I can access my email wherever I am --  webmail, IMAP, iPhone, etc -- and it is always on.  I don't need to be at a specific computer to use a specific note-taking application.  I don't have to have a browser to access a specific website to keep notes on.  My notes are always with me in my email.  One other benefit is built-in search (at least everywhere except the iPhone), so I can find whatever I need in my email.  I get instant backup since I forward a copy of my email to my Yahoo! Mail account.  How do you keep your notes?  Paper and pad?  Digitally?  Use a specific application?
