Best Aggregate News Site

february 4, 2003

I used to use My Yahoo! for my main page (when my browser starts up) because I could customize my news and keep up to date. And it was a good start, but Yahoo! has flooded the page with annoying ads that take up a fourth of the top of the page and that has turned me off to the service. I found News at Google while it was in beta, and I've been using it ever since. It is not customizable like My Yahoo!, but that's not a drawback since it pulls together a nice rounded assortment of news articles from 4,000 sources. It's updated very regularly, there are no ads, and there is even a simple text version for those of you who don't like all the pictures. It's the best aggregate news site around -- just like how Google is the best search engine around.
