iBook My Life Again

november 28, 2002

Going to give it another shot -- doing my digital life on my iBook. I know what my limitations are this time around though -- for instance I'm going to manage my Archos via my PC because there's just too much music on that little bad boy (of course I could do it with me iBook if I wanted to though!) So, here's what I've got going again this time. My iPod is returning into use. This time it won't hold all my music, rather it'll be the one that holds all the songs that I like to listen to.

I reinstalled Quicken Deluxe 2002 so that I can keep track of my finances on my iBook. Yes, I know Quicken Deluxe 2003 is out, but I can't find anything in the 2003 release that is worth a whole $60.

I got Retrospect Express 5.0 to do my backups. I'm backing up to my 18GB IDE drive that is encased in a ADS firewire box. I just connect up my iBook to the ADS box and launch Retrospect and there we go!

I'm going to copy my pictures from CDs over to my iBook (and backup to my ADS box) so that I can keep my photo library on the iBook.

I'm going to keep syncing my Treo90 to my PC, but eventually I'm going to "double sync" it to my iBook also. This is because I can make use of the ultracool iSync utility on the iBook -- it can sync my Address Book with the Address Book in MacOSX and my calendar with iCal. And all of that can then be sync'd over to my iPod too -- you know, just in case I don't have all that info in enough places.

I'm sure I'll think of other things, but that's it so far. Wish me luck.
