Back In Town

may 19, 2002

Welp, I'm back in town! After a long week out in the boonies doing a company project, I'm finally back! Yeesh. Thanks to Phil, Cecil, and Billy for working their butts off helping get this (secret -- read as "Mookie signed an NDA") project completed. Whilst I was in Arkansas though, there was some (kind of) surprising news. Sony shot the first volley by lowering the price of the PlayStation 2 by a hundred dollars. This was not too unexpected. The system has sold over 30 million units worldwide and the sales are still going. What was somewhat unexpected was from Microsoft who fired the return volley. Microsoft feeling the heat of being the only console at $299 dropped the price of their XBox by a hundred dollars.

Now all consoles (Nintendo Gamecube, Sony PS2, and Microsoft XBox) are at $199. I was actually tempted to run out and get an XBox just to play Halo and Project Gotham, but then I came to my senses. It looks like Sony is still keeping the lead in sales, so the price drop will keep the sales going. If you don't have a PS2, what are you waiting for?

I got the first scratch on my m125! Argh. It's a nice deep one too. The scratch is located on the upper-left hand corner of the writing area. That sucks because now whenever I write on it, I feel a little bump. Oh wells.

It's good to be back!
